FFE Schedules Wine & Beer Tasting, Oct. 18

FAIRFIELD, CT - The fourth annual Red, White and Brew, a wine and beer tasting to benefit the Fairfield Foundation for Education, takes place Saturday, Oct. 18, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Fairfield Museum and History Center.

The night features:
·         The main event, a wine and beer tasting organized by Twisted Vine;
·         A tasting of olive oils and vinegars by Dash & Drizzle, Fairfield’s olive oil and vinegar bar;
·         A silent auction and cheese and goodies to nibble between sips.

The Fairfield Foundation for Education was founded in 2010 by then Superintendent of the Fairfield Public School Ann Clark, PhD. "I understand the important role creative teachers fill in every school system,” Clark says. “I also know that often there is just not enough money for teachers to buy the needed materials to bring innovative programs to fruition. FFFE is a way for them to accomplish this."

The FFFE has funded almost 30 programs at the elementary, middle and high school levels. Teachers who have received grants will be on hand to talk about their projects and how the children in their classes have benefitted from the grants.

This event falls on the last day of Fairfield’s Restaurant Week, during which participating restaurants are offering prix fixe lunch and dinner menus. “We are encouraging everyone who attends our event to either eat before or after they attend the wine and beer tasting, to make it a special night out,” says Clark, who is serving as co-chair of the event with Valerie Foster.

The Fairfield Museum is located at 370 Beach Road. Tickets, at $35 each, $40 at the door, can be purchased by sending a check to the Fairfield Foundation for Education, P.O. Box 320561, Fairfield, CT 06825 or by logging onto www.fairfieldffe.org and following the link on the right hand side of the home page. Sponsorships are also available.
