Meet Authors Lesa & James Ransome @ Pequot Library

On Saturday, February 28, from 2:00pm - 3:30pm, at Pequot Library, Southport, meet the award-winning husband-wife team of Lesa Cline-Ransome (Author of 6 books) and James E. Ransome (Illustrator on over 25) as they discuss their collaboration on such works as the picture book biography, Words Set Me Free: The Story of Young Frederick Douglass.

Their Powerpoint will offer an overview of their other works, an insight into the process of working together and a discussion on the creative process in general.

 A Q & A session follows.

Words Set Me Free: The Story of Young Frederick Douglass is the inspirational, true story of how Frederick Douglass finds his way to freedom, one word at a time. Other titles include: Freedom's School, Light in the Darkness, My Name is Truth and Whale Trails, Before and Now.

Following a Q & A session, the author and illustrator will work with kids using cut paper and scissors to draw and cut out geometric shapes to create images and figures on paper
