CT Audubon's Adirondack Night: 3/7, 6:30-9:30pm

Experience the Warmth of the Season at Connecticut Audubon Society’s Center at Fairfield, 2325 Burr Street, when it hosts Adirondack Night Saturday, March 7, from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.

What could evoke the simple, breathtaking beauty of winter more than an Adirondack experience? Now you can savor the sights, sounds and flavors of this unique wilderness preserve without the long drive.

On Saturday, the Connecticut Audubon Society Center at Fairfield transforms into an Adirondack lodge reflecting nature’s rustic and rugged mountain life. This wonderfully casual flannel shirt and jeans affair promises to be a warm, fun-filled evening certain to shake off the winter blues.

The evening will feature lively music and harmonies by the Merwin Mountain Band, and hearty cuisine like the Audubon’s special-recipe chilies, smoked game and fish, along with an open bar. The wide variety of enticing silent auction items includes guided birding excursions on Block Island and Long Island Sound, as well as a long weekend getaway to Nantucket and an Audubon birthday party.

A highlight of the evening, weather permitting, will be guided night walks through the woods of the Larsen Sanctuary under a full moon. And staff naturalists will be on hand to introduce guests to several of the Center’s non-releasable birds of prey.

To be transported to this cozy night in the Adirondacks, the cost is only $45 per person. Proceeds will support the Connecticut Audubon Society, its mission and its programs. Tickets are available at: http://www.ctaudubon.org/center-at-fairfield or by calling 203-259-6305, ext. 109.
