Humans Collective Presents "Alone-ology" May 28 in NYC

Humans Collective presents "Alone-ology" featuring the works of JOANNA NUMATA, CARLOS NETO and SHEILA BARKER, on MAY 28TH, 7:30pm, at The Nuyorican Poets Cafe, 236 E 3rd St., New York, New York.

As show producers describe, "It began with a creative roundtable of the top New York-based choreographers, musicians and set designers, brought together by Lauren Cox and team, to produce an eclectic show that would bring dance, theatre, spoken word and live music to the stage. The show, “Alone-ology” is a one-hour study of the human experience of being alone or lack thereof. The subject was inspired by Maya Angelou’s poem “Alone” and takes the audience from the emptiness of materialism to the value of authentic interactions and the love of another human being.

The 10-person cast delivers powerful music, live poetry, singing and choreography from jazz legend Sheila Barker and includes Hip Hop professionals Joanna Numata & Carlos Neto. Coming to the conclusion that “nobody but nobody can make it out here alone, “Alone-ology” leaves viewers with hope in a symphony of diverse voices. The production is put together to help support the care and education of Natasha, a child from Rock Orphanage in Hyderabad, India.
