Christy Colasurdo & Analiese Paik to Speak at Fairfield Library, Sept. 3

The Friends of the Fairfield Public Library will welcome Christy Colasurdo, co-author of The Connecticut Farm Table Cookbook, and Analiese Paik, founder and editor of Fairfield Green Food Guide, as the guest speakers at its Annual Meeting of the general membership on Thursday, September 3rd. The meeting will take place at 7:00 pm in the Memorial Room at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road. Light refreshments will be served.

The Connecticut Farm Table Cookbook is much more than a regional cookbook packed with recipes from the area’s top chefs and local farmers. It's a window into the world of Connecticut’s farm-to-table movement, brought to life through vivid farmer and chef profiles, local lore, and stunning photographs. This culinary travelogue will whet your appetite for the exciting options on Connecticut's local, sustainable dining scene—from seafood and sugar shacks to four-star farmhouse restaurants. 

Christy Colasurdo is the former Special Sections editor at New York Magazine, an award-winning writer,and the co-founder of a company delivering wholesome foods from small Vermont farms to customers’ front doors. Colasurdo writes regular features for Westport, Fairfield Living and other regional magazines and is a contributor to CTbites.com, the definitive guide to the Connecticut food scene. She is also the author of Restaurant 2000 and Bar Excellence (Rizzoli).

Analiese Paik is a local sustainable food advocate and the founder and editor of the Fairfield Green Food Guide, an award-winning digital news publication that promotes eating locally and sustainably grown food. Guides to buying year-round from area farms, farm stands, farmers’ markets, CSAs (farm shares), farm-to-door services, organic and farm-to-table restaurants and specialty retailers empower consumers to make more responsible food choices.

Paik is a graduate of the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) and attended the International Wine Center after receiving an MBA International Corporate Finance and enjoying a successful career in marketing management in the financial services industry. She is the recipient of the 2015 Morris Media Green Award Honorable Mention; Constant Contact All Star Award 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, and 2010; Slow Food Metro North Snail of Approval Award 2012; and Green Coast Award 2013 and 2011. Paik been featured in numerous Connecticut newspapers and magazines and was spotlighted as a “foodie who makes a difference” in Every Day with Rachael Ray magazine.

The Friends will conduct a brief business meeting preceding the author event on September 3rd, including the election of the proposed slate of the 2015-2016 Board of Directors. Members and prospective members are invited to attend.
