Fairfield Museum's Legends & Hauntings Tour: Oct. 25 & 30

FAIRFIELD, CT – Did witches live in Fairfield? Are there ghosts in the Sun Tavern? Did body snatching happen in the cemetery? Find out when the Fairfield Museum hosts its annual Legends and Hauntings Walking on Sunday, October 25^th and Friday, October 30^th at 6 p.m.

As night descends, Fairfield Museum docents will share haunting legends, superstitions and local folklore. Brave souls may even choose to stand on the site where townsfolk tested alleged witches in the 17^th century.

“We don’t claim to prove the stories, we just to tell them and you can take away from it what you like,” said Walt Matis, a Fairfield native and the Museum’s Program and Volunteer Coordinator. “The idea is to have a good time…and to help you think about what those things are that go bump in the night.”           

The Legends and Hauntings Walking Tour will run from 6-8 p.m. and commences at the Museum, 370 Beach Road. Attendees are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes! In conjunction with the October 25^th tour, families can meet local Author of the T. J. Jackson Mysteries, Paul Ferrante. Arrive at the Museum at 5 p.m. to learn about Curse of the Fairfield Witch, his latest book in the series. When a witch from the 1600s returns to modern day Fairfield to avenge her conviction, local resident T.J. Jackson and his ghost hunting team must stop her before she makes good on an ancient curse. This historically based novel by Fairfield native Paul Ferrante is filled with local flavor, and is the fourth installment in the T.J. Jackson Mysteries series, which is enjoyed by both teen and adult readers. Free to the public.
