Holiday Pop-Up Market at Fairfield Museum, Nov. 6 & 7

FAIRFIELD, CT - Get a jump on holiday shopping and support a good cause by visiting the 2nd annual Holiday Pop-Up Market at the Fairfield Museum. Twenty-five exciting vendors will be on hand to showcase their unique wares during this two-day shopping extravaganza. The event, co-sponsored by the National Charity League’s Fairfield Chapter, will take place on Friday, November 6th from noon to 7 p.m. and Saturday, November 7th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“This year marks the 2nd annual Holiday Pop Up Market, and it promises to be a great start to the holiday shopping season,” said event co-chair Ruth Merchant. “The National Charity League is looking forward to continuing this new tradition along with The Fairfield Museum!”

Items for sale will include handcrafted jewelry, fashion for women, men and children, hostess gifts, accessories, home décor, cosmetics and more. The Museum’s Gift Shop will also be open, featuring locally made items, Fairfield-themed gifts and a variety of toys, books, accessories and items for the home. In addition, food and wine tastings courtesy of Dash & Drizzle and International Wine & Liquor of Westport will be available, and food trucks will be on site to feed hungry shoppers.

Lisa Brown, another co-chair, is looking forward to the event: “We have an exciting line-up of vendors this year … allowing shoppers to get a great start on their holiday shopping. Pop up markets are such a great opportunity for small businesses to share their merchandise with a broader customer base, while benefiting two great non-profit organizations.”

Shoppers can peruse the varied gifts in the Museum’s lobby, event space and an additional tent. They may also visit the Museum’s ongoing exhibitions including “Handcrafted: Artisans Past & Present,” “Creating Community,” and “Picturing The News: The Distinctive Vision of Harry Neigher and Frank Gerratana.”  Participating vendors include The Two oh Three, which offers 203 logo items for men, women and children, Hartford Prints stationary, The Lady Ming fresh water pearl jewelry, Anita Designs’ handcrafted tabletop and home furnishings and Upcycle, which makes jewelry from reused items.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit National Charity League’s Fairfield Chapter. According to co-chair Suzanne Goodrich, “The National Charity League, Inc. is a mother-daughter philanthropic organization with over 200 Chapters serving local communities across the United States. The Fairfield Chapter has been proud to work closely with The Fairfield Museum as well as many other local non-profit organizations in the Fairfield/Bridgeport area.”

The event is free and open to the public. For more information call 203-259-1598 or visit Fairfieldhistory.org.
