Short Story Discussions with Dr. Mark Schenker at Fairfield Library

Fairfield, CT - This fall, Dr. Mark Schenker will deliver a series of discussions on North American short stories written in the latter half of the 20th century. These discussions will be on Thursdays, September 8, 15 and 22 at 7:00 pm, in the Memorial Room of the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road.

Schenker will be discussing works by three superb fiction writers: Joyce Carol Oates, Alice Munro, and Lorrie Moore.  The short stories that will be discussed are Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been (Oates 1966), A Wilderness Station (Monro 1992) and People Like That are the Only People Here (Moore 1997).

Dr. Mark Schenker is a Senior Associate Dean at Yale College and Dean of Academic Affairs, and a part-time lecturer in the English Department.  He has led book discussions in Connecticut libraries for over 25 years, and has given numerous lectures on writers and their works.
