Fairfield, Conn. – Once again, the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce heralds the start of the summer season by welcoming artists, clothiers, jewelers, artisans and others to the Old Town Hall Green, corner of Old Post Road and Beach Road, on Saturday, June 11th.
This free, rain-or-shine annual “Fairfield Market on the Green” promises to be full of a variety of vendors, representing a wonderful mix and cross-section of beautiful items for every type of shopper. And to add even more enjoyment to the festivities, the Chamber is happy to announce the addition of a “Red Wagon Parade”, which will start at noon, to the event.
Shopping is the focus … and this is the third year for the Chamber’s annual summer open-air, pop-up market event. The Chamber anticipates crowds of attendees, as residents from Fairfield and the surrounding towns look forward to attending each year.
The Chamber wants to provide a special experience, so shoppers can find high-quality items, including: summer-themed food items, delicious Greek oils, antique & restored furniture, plus a wide variety of retailers selling jewelry, beauty products, clothing, household items, and nautical items, all ready to purchase on the spot. And based on feedback, shoppers also like to get a big jump on gift items for the holidays.
As we know, shopping can make people hungry, so there will also be well-known food trucks, offering the best variety of local foods for everyone to enjoy.

Red Wagon Parade
Starts at 12:00 noon
Decorate your red wagon and join the parade at the Market on the Green. The theme of the Red Wagon Parade is “I LOVE FAIRFIELD”
Decorations should reflect what you love about this town ... think beaches, boats, the gazebo, dogwoods, historic places, school spirit ... let your imagination run wild!
Look on the Chamber’s website: www.FairfieldCTChamber.com for ideas! Prizes will be awarded for creativity. And everyone will receive an “I Love Fairfield” pin.
Parade line-up will begin at 11:30am on the Beach Road side of Old Town Hall. First Selectman Mike Tetreau will ring a bell to start the parade right at noon. The parade line will assemble on the side of the Old Town Hall building, and move towards Old Post Road. The parade route will have the wagons turn left towards the YMCA and once there, will cross over to the other side of Old Post Road heading back to the Old Town Hall where prizes will be given out.

The Red Wagon Parade is new this year and is part of the Market on the Green organized by the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce.

Exhibitor’s spots fill up fast (starting at $150 for a 10’x10’ space – Chamber members: $125), and the Chamber’s goal is to feature more than 45 well-known and unique retail vendors, so shoppers can visit their booths to say hello, look around, explore possible purchase items and have an opportunity to buy an endless array of fun and beautiful items … nautical vendors always a plus for Fairfielders!
Publicity, social media and marketing has been placed far in advance of this event to create wide community awareness. Vendors can also receive a discount, if they register and also participate in the Chamber’s Fall Market on the Green on October 15th.
