The Fix-It Man Story Time and Craft at Fairfield's Main Library, June 28

Fairfield, Conn. - Celebrate Fairfield Library's summer reading theme, “Build a Better World”, with a special story time and craft. Author Susan Hood will read her book, The Fix-It Man, about a boy who hatches a plan that involves pulleys, cranes, Ferris wheels and other simple machines to “fix” the problem of removing his sister’s smelly diapers from the house. After story time, enjoy a fun craft. This event is for children ages 3-6, but older children are also welcome, and is set for Wednesday, June 28 at 10:00 am in the Rotary Room at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road. Books will be available for purchase and signing thanks to the Fairfield University Bookstore. Registration is requested.

Susan Hood is the author of hundreds of children’s books. She has published with Disney, Fisher Price, Penguin Putnam, Scholastic, Sesame Workshop and Simon & Schuster, among others. A former children’s magazine and book editor, she lives in coastal Connecticut.

Don’t forget to sign up for this year’s summer reading program, “Build a Better World.” Receive a raffle ticket and a prize for every 200 minutes you read.  In addition, there are community-building activities you can do to earn raffle tickets, too. There will be raffle prize drawings at the Main and Fairfield Woods Branch Libraries every week. Plus special events all summer long.
