CT Taco Fest Set For Aug. 26, Danbury Ice Arena

Danbury, CT – The Connecticut Taco Festival will take place on Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 10 AM to 8 PM at the Danbury Ice Arena. This event will feature a variety of taco selections from restaurants and food trucks around Connecticut, alcoholic beverages, Lucha Libre Wrestling featuring Rey Mysterio and Jerry Lawler, Taco-Eating Contests, live music and performances, kid’s activities and vendors. Tickets are limited. Advanced general admission tickets are $45 and newsletter subscribers automatically receive promo codes for a discount. Entry includes free tacos, 2 voting tickets for your favorite tacos, drink specials, live music, performances, wrestling, a t-shirt and free giveaways. The winner of the taco-eating contest will receive a $1,000 cash grand prize! VIP tickets include free tacos, bar service, taco-eating contest participation, optimal viewing of performances and wrestling, meet and greet with Rey Mysterio, and a complimentary Uber. 

Participating restaurants and food trucks include Agave Mexican Restaurant (Danbury), El Coyote (Monroe, Brookfield and New Milford), Hacienda don Manuel (Brookfield), Puerto Vallarta (Danbury), Mezón Tapas Bar and Restaurant (Danbury), Molé Molé (Poughkeepsie), Pancho’s Tacos (Danbury), Tigers’ Den (Ridgefield) and Rubamba Restaurant (New Haven). Food trucks include Hapa Food Truck (Stamford), Brazilian Gula Grill (South Windsor), Pork Friends and Co. (Meriden) and Kathy’s Kitchen (Sandy Hook). Flavors include al pastor, beef, carne asada, chicken tinga, feijoada, pork, salpicão, steak and more! Gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options are available, including cactus, corn and portobello. 

Lucha Libre Wrestling will feature world famous Rey Mysterio, Jerry Lawler, Garza Jr., The Laredo Kid and many more in action. Meet & Greet with Rey Mysterio is $20 for an autograph and $20 for a photograph.

Drinks include tequila shots, frozen margaritas, frozen daiquiris, frozen pina coladas, mojitos, sangria, beer and more. There will be live music and performances, including Yale University’s Ballet Folklórico Mexicano, Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Brookfield, a mariachi band and more! Vendors include hot sauces, clothing and jewelry. Kids activities include face painting, piñatas, and more to be announced soon.
