Nestle Waters NA to Host Volunteer Events in Stamford Area Aug. 10

Stamford, CT - Thursday, August 10, Nestlé Waters North America will partner with local organizations to host volunteer events in the Stamford area.

As part of #NestléCares, Nestlé’s national day of volunteering, these events will happen in concert with nearly 150 other service events across the country, in which over 6,000 Nestlé employees will participate.

  • Nestlé volunteers and members from the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford (BGC) will host a water festival to educate kids and teens about the importance of water conservation and sustainability. Nestlé employees in Stamford have been trained by Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) to promote education and awareness around this important topic.

Nestlé Waters North America President and CEO Fernando Mercé will attend this event and participate in the day’s activities, as will U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal. Both are expected to make remarks at the festival.

  • At Cove Island Park in Stamford, Nestlé will partner with the Student Conservation Association (SCA) to help restore the park's waterfront on Long Island Sound by painting and refurbishing guard railings along the waterfront trail. Nestlé Waters North America Chief Sustainability Officer Nelson Switzer and Connecticut State Representative Caroline Simmons will attend this event as well.

Both events are part of Nestlé’s broader goal to create a more sustainable future for its employees and the communities in which they live and work.
