The public is invited to attend a special Board of Selectmen meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 26 at 4:30 pm in the First Floor Conference Room in Independence Hall, 725 Old Post Road. Selectmen will honor incoming Fairfield Woods Middle School 6th grader Cecilia "CJ" Vinas for earning the nationwide "Healthy Lunchtime Challenge."
Vinas was one of fifty-four children selected from over 1,500 entries nationwide to win this challenge spearheaded by First Lady Michelle Obama and Epicurious as part of the Let's Move! Campaign encouraging the next generation of Americans to take a leading role in combating obesity.
President Obama addressed Miss Vinas and the other winners at a Kids' State Dinner.
