Sunday Film Festival at Westport Historical Society

Westport, CT - Westport Historical Society’s first film in a series, will be the 1968 classic The Swimmer based on the 1964 short story by John Cheever, starring Burt Lancaster with Janet Landgard and Janice Rule. It was filmed largely on location in Westport, Connecticut, hometown of director Frank Perry. This film will be shown on Sunday, November 12 from 4-6pm at WHS located at 25 Avery Place, Westport. Upcoming scheduled films include Stepford Wives on January 28, Ice Storm on February 11 & Revolutionary Road on March 11.

Hosts and presenters for this series are Richard Deej Webb, curator and producer. Mr. Webb is an author, educator, historian and documentary filmmaker. He has been a resident of Fairfield and Westport since 1967. Will Fulton  has long explored the terrain and the nuances of the varied communities in Fairfield County. As a  film buff he is excited to share and discuss this unique film series. Robert Steven Williams is a novelist, musician and documentary filmmaker. His debut novel, My Year as a Clown received the silver medal for popular fiction from the Independent Publisher Book Awards in 2013.
