Fairfield Libraries Launch "One Card One Town"

First Selectman Mike Tetreau announced today that, in conjunction with September being “Library Card Sign-Up Month,” Fairfield’s libraries are launching a new initiative—“One Card One Town.”

The Fairfield Public Library System, which is comprised of the Fairfield Main Library and the Fairfield Woods Branch Library, has partnered with Pequot Library to provide Fairfield Public Library Cards at Pequot Library.

Town Librarian Karen Ronald said, “Pequot Library has been a community partner for decades and we hope this service is of benefit to all Fairfield residents.”

All Fairfield residents will be given the opportunity to obtain a Fairfield Public Library card with a Pequot Library affinity sticker attached. This collaboration will provide convenient, easy access to all library materials – including digital ones – purchased by the Fairfield Public Library and the Pequot Library. In addition, the Pequot affinity sticker provides all residents the opportunity for discounts on select programs and events at Pequot Library.

Pequot Library Executive Director Martha Lord said, “Mindful of our Town’s budgetary challenges, we are proud to partner and serve our public by utilizing resources most effectively through our town-wide library system. It is important to note, the Fairfield Public Library, Woods Branch and Pequot Library offer the very best in library services at a bargain of the cost compared with our peer towns.”

First Selectman Tetreau said, “Fairfielders love their libraries and this service will make it even easier to access all the valuable resources we are so fortunate to be able to enjoy from these great community organizations.”
