Miller/Sanford Street Parking Lot Re-Construction to Begin Aug. 8

Fairfield, CT – The Office of Community & Economic Development wishes to inform commuters and employees of downtown businesses that presently use the parking lot at the end of Sanford Street (the Miller/Sanford Street lot) of changes to the parking layout as well as impending construction work.

The parking lot will be temporarily closed for milling and re-grading on Saturday, August 8th. Additionally, some parking spaces may be impacted by drainage work that is expected to precede the milling work. Final paving and re-striping is scheduled to be completed during the week of August 24-28. Permit holders should note that weather and contractor availability may slightly affect this schedule.

Permit holders are advised to use alternate parking areas during construction; however, the parking lot will re-open for use during the period between the milling and paving phases of construction.

Upon completion of final paving, the entire lot including the first two rows previously set aside for commuter parking will be reserved for downtown employee and 2-hour public parking.

For further information, please contact the Office at (203) 256-3120.
