Registration Open for Social Skills Classes at Pequot Library

Southport, CT – In The Barclay Classes (Manners, Social Skills, and Ballroom Dance Classes), children learn so much more than dancing. For generations, The Barclay Classes have helped students grow into well-mannered young adults by helping them develop social skills, confidence and poise while having fun. The Barclay Classes program stresses the importance and practice of good manners and presents instruction in ballroom dancing. Dancing is used as the teaching vehicle using games to keep the children engaged. The basic ballroom dances are taught in the beginning grades and then each year new steps are added as the children move through the program. Being confident and relaxed with dancing will prove to make all social events for your child fun and enjoyable. Pequot Library is one of 19 communities across five states offering these classes.

The program includes Ballroom Dancing; Phone Manners; Respectful Behavior; Conversational Skills; The Power of Please, Thank You, May I Please, Excuse Me, After You; Dining Courtesies; Introductions; Pride in One’s Appearance; Manners for Personal Electronics; Table Manners; Good First Impressions; Being a Good Sport; and Thank You Notes.

Classes are conducted on ten Tuesdays between October and May for grades 3-7. 3rd Grade 4:30pm – 5:30pm; 4th Grade 6:00pm – 7:00pm; and 5/6/7th Grades 7:15pm – 8:15pm. For enrollment information, please contact The Barclay Classes at: enroll@thebarclayclasses.com or 908-232-8370.
