Fairfielder Susan H. Carroll Passes, Age 81

Susan H. Carroll, age 81, of Fairfield, beloved wife of 58 years of Francis W. Carroll, Jr. (Bud), passed away peacefully Saturday, November 21, 2015 at St. Vincent's Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Born in Hartford, CT, the daughter of the late J. William and Elizabeth Harrison, she had been a Fairfield resident for the last 58 years. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's College in West Hartford. Sue loved music and was a member of the choir at St. Thomas Aquinas Church and sang in the Fairfield County Chorale. She was an award-winning and talented gardener, watercolor artist and loved to travel with her husband, especially to London and Venice. She enjoyed playing golf at the Patterson Club and the H. Smith Richardson Golf Club, and was a devoted NY Yankees fan.

Above all else, Sue delighted in spending time with her loving family. Predeceased by her loving daughter Suzanne Fracasse, she is survived by four beloved children, Lynn Carroll-Musk and her husband Howard of New York City, Francis W. Carroll, III (Buddy) and his wife Patti of Fairfield, John H. Carroll of Bridgeport and Leslie Morin and her husband Scott of West Hartford; a son-in-law, Paul Fracasse of Cheshire; seven cherished grandchildren, Courtney, Cassie, Michaela, Shane, Olivia, Claire and Hannah, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Mary and Barbara.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, November 25, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1719 Post Road, Fairfield. Interment followed in St. Thomas Cemetery.
