Longtime Chase Exec John William Murray Passes

John William Murray, Jr. passed away on February 4, 2016 after a brief illness.

John graduated from Wilton High School in Wilton, CT in 1976. Thereafter, he attended Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance.

John had a long, enduring and extraordinary career at JP Morgan Chase where he worked his full career from 1980 until 2008, when he retired.

He was actively involved at Operation Hope in Fairfield, CT where he helped serve those less fortunate than himself. He was also a National Alumni Board member at the Caron Treatment Center in Wernersville, Pennsylvania. He was an avid sports fan all his life and enjoyed adoring and caring for his family and celebrating all of life's gifts with friends and associates.

John is survived by his grieving parents, John W. Murray and Anne F. Murray of Monroe, CT, his two wonderful children, Caitlin A. Murray and John W. Murray III and their mother, Marianne F. Murray of Weston, CT. He is also survived by his brother James M. Murray (Elizabeth) of Weston, CT and sister, Maureen M. Turner (Thomas) of Huntington, CT and his niece, Clare F. Murray and nephew, Thomas M. Turner IV, Aunt and Godmother, Catherine T. Fenton of Huntington, CT and close friend, Wendy Coleman of Greenwich, CT.

Calling hours will be at Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street, Norwalk, CT 06851 (203) 847-7291 from 2:00PM – 6:00PM on Sunday, February 7, 2016.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00AM directly at Sacred Heart Parish, Church Street, Georgetown, CT 06829 (203) 544-8345. Burial will follow the service and take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 West Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY 10532.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Operation Hope at 50 Nichols Street, Fairfield, CT 06824, or to the Caron Treatment Center through www.caron.org/give-to-caron/donate-form.
