Fairfield, CT - Mary F. Drewelus, age 101, of Fairfield, CT, entered into eternal rest on Sunday April 24, 2016. She was the beloved wife of Anthony Drewelus who predeceased her in 1974.
Mary was born in Bridgeport the daughter of the late Frank and Apolena Fruncek. She was a resident of Fairfield for 101 years, she was previously employed at Warnaco as a seamstress, and Bassick Company as an administrative assistant for many years. She was best known for being an avid line dancer, and performed all around Fairfield County with her girlfriends, mostly at convalescent homes with the goal to put a smile on everyone's face. Her infectious smile and whit stole the hearts of everyone around. She was an inspiration and touched the hearts of all she met. She was especially fond of all the joy and happiness spent with her neighborhood friends.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Dorothy A. Murren, and Dorothy's husband Thomas B. Murren of Trumbull; her loving son, Thomas A. Drewelus, of Fairfield; her grandchildren Russ Bulkley and his partner Jose Padilla, of Stamford; Donna Drewelus and her husband Dean Capozzielo, of Trumbull; Kimberly Preteska and her husband Erik of Trumbull; and Michele Masliuk and her husband John, of Myrtle Beach, SC. Her great-grandchildren Kyle and Ryan, Amber and Payton, and Ashley and Ava. Mary is also survived by her loving sister Anne Reece of Spring Hill, FL and her niece Paula Helm, of North Smithfield, RI. She is also survived by a long list of extended family that will miss her dearly. We all have had the extreme pleasure of being able to grow up and enjoy spending precious time with Grammy.
