Fairfielder Fred Ward, Jr. Passes, Age 86

Fairfield, CT -- Frederick Cornelius Ward, Jr., age 86 of Fairfield, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 15, 2016.

Born in Bridgeport and raised in Fairfield, the son of the late Frederick and Harriet Ward. He has been a lifelong town resident. Frederick graduated from Roger Sherman School, Roger Ludlowe High School. He was employed by the Feroleto Steel Company, Bridgeport, CT. He was a lifelong member of First Church Congregational in Fairfield, CT. He is a veteran of the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Nelson Ward, Stanley Jones and Nathaniel Ward; two sisters, Edith Newton and Charlotte Ward; and two nieces, Renee and Renae Newton. He leaves to cherish his memories a sister, Gwendolyn L. Ward of Fairfield; a sister-in-law Emira Jones of Phoenix, AZ.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 11 a.m. meeting DIRECTLY at the First Church Congregational Chapel, 148 Beach Rd., Fairfield, CT. Memorial Contributions in Frederick's memory may be made to: Gwendolyn L. Ward, 81 Pierce Street, Fairfield, CT 06825.
