Bus Strike Possible in Fairfield Public School System

Fairfield, CT - On Wednesday, Jan. 11, Fairfield Parents and Guardians received an official notice by email from Superintendent of Schools Toni R. Jones, Ed.D, suggesting that school bus drivers might strike due to contract issues, though was confident that negotiations would be successful.

The letter stated:

"You may hear of a possible school bus strike in Fairfield.  There is a ‘no strike agreement’ in place until January 31st.  A contract vote is scheduled before that date and we are optimistic that negotiations will be resolved without causing disruption for our school system."

Jones promised to "send another note with any updates or changes as they occur."
