Fairfielder Carne Stasolla Passes, Age 98

Fairfield, CT -- Carne G. (Autuori) Stasolla, age 98 of Fairfield, the beloved wife of 64 years of the late Nicholas Stasolla, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017. She was born in Bridgeport to the late Martin and Rose (Ascolese) Autuori and was a lifelong area resident. 

She was a graduate of Bassick High School and Butler Business School. During World War II, she was an accountant for many years at Manny Maxwell and Moore. Carne met her husband shortly after the war. They married and built their home in Fairfield where she lived until age 97.

Carne had a full life, always spending time with her family, celebrating life each day surrounded by love, laughs and eating. During her 98 years, she was an avid antique collector, bridge player and golfer. She was a member of the Fairfield Women's Golf League and Hole-in-One Club. She loved her church and was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Woman's Guild for many years.

Carne is survived by her three loving daughters, Dr. Mary Cilio of Fairfield, Michele Komenda and her husband, William of Fairfield and Rebecca Stasolla of Black Rock. She was also blessed with six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her sister-in-law, Rose Autuori of Shelton, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her loving brothers, Vincent, Martin and Dominick, her sister-in-law, Rose and son-in-law, William Cilio.

Family members noted, "Our blessing is that we shared a long life with a wonderful human being. Our memories will always involve lots of stories that make us smile and laugh out loud. Her legacy will always remain a celebration. We would like to express a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Brookdale of Rocky Hill and Lord Chamberlain for the kindness, care, love and dignity during her final days."

Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road in Fairfield. Interment will be private. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to: Brookdale of Rocky Hill, Clare Bridge Program, 60 Cold Spring Rd., Rocky Hill, CT 06067. The Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road in Fairfield Center is in charge of arrangements.
