Fairfield Residents Join NAMI Fairfield Board of Directors

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield residents Joyce Barber, Tim O’Connor and Elizabeth “Ann” Hulinsky were elected to NAMI Fairfield’s Board of Directors, a community organization providing support and education for people affected by mental illness.  Mr. O’Connor will assume the role of Vice President and Secretary.  They join incumbent Directors also from Fairfield, Diane Aufiero, Cheryll Houston Blumenfield, Rosemary Crossland, Miriam Fitzpatrick (Treasurer) and Loretta Jay (Co-President).

Other new appointments expand the Board to 14 directors: Karen Forrest, Rob Fry (Co-President), Lori Ellyn Guttman, Mark Krantz and PJ McCreanor.  Maureen Cuda is also a sitting member.

“NAMI Fairfield is a valuable resource for families in our community coping with mental illness issues, and I am eager to collaborate with my fellow Board members to make a difference,” said new Board member Joyce Barber.  Tim O’Connor added, “I am also excited to have this opportunity to contribute to the growth of NAMI Fairfield, and I am looking forward to working together with my fellow Board members to not only enhance our support services and educational programs but to also make them accessible to everyone in our community.”

NAMI Fairfield hosts a free support group for family members of people living with mental illness--offering encouragement, acceptance and advice in a warm, non-judgmental setting.  This group is open to everyone in the community and is held on the third Wednesday of each month.  Guest speaker presentations, a book group and NAMI’s signature educational programs are also offered, all free of charge.  For more information and to join NAMI Fairfield, please visit www.NAMIFairfield.org
