The Greater Bridgeport Regional Council (GBRC) is seeking public comments on the Regional Plan of Conservation and Development. The GBRC is a regional planning organization with six member communities that include Fairfield, Bridgeport, Easton, Monroe, Stratford and Trumbull.
The Regional Comprehensive Plan is a blueprint for future growth and development within the Greater Bridgeport Region. Based on a strong foundation of community input, the Plan guides the region's governments as they make policy decisions on land use, housing, transportation, infrastructure, economic development, sustainability, and more. A collective vision increases cooperation and communication between governments and develops coordinated approaches to regional problems.
Fairfield residents and business owners are encouraged to go to http://www.hlplanning.com/portals/gbrc/ and fill out the online survey and also use the interactive mapping application where participants can create a community map that highlights issues, opportunities and weaknesses that they have identified. The link to the mapping application can be found at http://www.hlplanning.com/portals/gbrc/project/smap-map-based-community-outreach/. Input is due by Friday, August 29, 2014.
