On the heels of receiving the “Best Romance” Film Award at the recent Manhattan Film Festival, Wilton filmmaker Ila Duncan has landed her film “Janie Charismanic” at two additional film festivals, both festivals taking place in Los Angeles in October.
“Janie Charismanic” takes a trip into the mind of down-and-out rock star, Janie, and follows her journey from the wild side to the other side. Ila Duncan, the 24-year old filmmaker from Wilton, along with her father, Woodson Duncan, established Judith Studios to produce the films that Ila both directs and co-writes. “Janie Charismanic” is her second feature film (“I Hate Tom Petty” being the first from Judith Studios) and features Josie Marie Smith in the title role along with co-star Anthony Marks. Eric Roberts appears in a cameo role as “Max,” Janie’s mentor and former lover.
