Connoisseur Media & Pepe's Present Radiothon, Nov. 7

HARTFORD, Conn. – On Friday, November 7th, 102.9 DRC, 99.1 PLR, 95.9 The Fox, and The Talk of Connecticut’s Brad Davis will all come together at Pepe’s Pizza in West Hartford for the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center Radiothon.  This event will be heard throughout the entire state as each radio station and its personalities will present and share inspirational stories from the Medical Center’s patients, families, and staff.

Listeners will be encouraged to call and pledge their financial support to Connecticut Children’s.  All funds raised during this event will remain at Connecticut Children’s and help provide the most advanced pediatric medical care in an environment designed especially for children.

“Connecticut Children’s is pleased to partner with Connoisseur Media and Pepe’s Pizza for this year’s Radiothon.” said Martha Schall, President, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center Foundation.  “Through their efforts, and the generosity of their listeners, they are helping us to realize our goal of getting kids healthy and getting kids home. There are no limits to what we will do for a child, but no matter how far we go, it’s the trip home that truly heals.”

Kristin Okesson, Market Manager of Connoisseur CT had this to say about the Radiothon, “Our stations are proud to dedicate their airwaves in the name of supporting, bettering, and saving children lives. We have strong ties to communities that we serve and find that everyone knows someone who has been touched and saddened by the terrible sickness of a child. Our entire staff, specifically Chaz and AJ, have made it their personal goal and challenge to raise significant contributions for Connecticut Children’s. We hope to see and hear our listeners and sponsors join us at Pepe’s to extend their support.”

Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana, a third-generation owned and operated pizzeria since 1925, and known as a Connecticut institution, is the backdrop for this unprecedented fundraising event. Pepe’s newest location in West Hartford will serve as headquarters for the live broadcast and morning show with Chaz and AJ. In addition, all Pepe’s locations will be participating that day with live feeds from Fairfield and New Haven and donation drops in their Manchester, Mohegan Sun, Danbury and Yonkers, NY locations.

“The Pepe’s family is thrilled to be a part of this event, “says Gary Bimonte, the grandson of Frank Pepe, “Our goal is to raise money and awareness for Connecticut Children’s and continue to support children and families in need of these critical services.”

Listeners can help reach that goal by tuning in that morning to 102.9 DRC from 5:30 am – 8:00 pm or 99.1 PLR, 95.9 The Fox and WDRC-AM The Talk of Connecticut that morning from 5:30 am – 10:00 am and calling in their support.
