Trumbull Arts Fest Seeks Literary Contest Entries

Joanna M. Leone, a Trumbull resident and author, is the Volunteer Publicity Chair for 2015 Literary Competition of the 37th Annual Trumbull Arts Festival. She encourages all writers from grades 3 through 12 and all adults to participate in this year’s Literary Competition by submitting their unpublished work. There are 3 categories: Fiction, Non-Fiction and Poetry, and there are no residency requirements. The final postmark date is May 29, 2015. All winners will be notified by mail in late August and recognized at the Trumbull Arts Festival on September 13, 2015. The Literary Competition application contains all of the rules and criteria.

“I am very excited to promote the Literary Competition. Since I am an author, I have a passion for writing and creativity," says Leone. "Publicizing and promoting this event is enjoyable. I look forward to working with Emily Areson in the Trumbull Arts Dept again this year. I have just started to spread the word, but will soon be displaying the Literary Competition applications online, and at many businesses, libraries, museums, theaters and other venues.”

She added that the Literary Competition is a wonderful way to bring people from many different communities together. Last year one of the Literary Competition winners drove from Michigan to be awarded at the ceremony. For questions, more details or to request a copy of the Literary Competition application, please contact Emily Areson in the Trumbull Arts Department at (203) 452-5065 or via email at arts@trumbull-ct.gov
