Westport Library to Offer Free HPV Cancer Lecture Sept. 11

St. Vincent's Medical Center will host a free lecture on "The HPV Cancer Epidemic" on Friday, September 11, from 1-2pm at the Westport Library, 20 Jesup Road, Westport.

Why should we vaccinate our children? Erich M. Sturgis, MD, MPH, will discuss the need to vaccinate for human papilloma virus (HPV), which can cause cervical and other cancers seldom detected in early stages. Sturgis is a professor, Department of Head and Neck Surgery and Department of Epidemiology, Christopher & Susan Damico Chair in Viral-Associated Malignancies at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Co-sponsored by St. Vincent's Health Services and MD Anderson Cancer Center.
