WHS to Hold Poets Open Mic Night, March 3

Westport, CT -- The Westport Historical Society proudly presents Poet’s Open Mic Night on Friday, March 3rd in the Sheffer Gallery, 25 Avery Place, Westport at 7pm – 9pm. All poets, young and old, are invited to join us. Bring your poems and some friends, and read your own work to an appreciative audience. Meet other poets and enjoy their creative efforts. Have fun and take this opportunity to give voice to the literary arts in Westport. Your host for the evening will be Ralph Adams. Ralph is a Westport resident. His work has been published in Lifelines: a Dartmouth Literary Journal, and he occasionally reads his work at poetry gatherings in the area.

Poets should plan on limiting their reading time to five minutes, depending on the number of poets who want to read.

“Poetry is a wonderful literary art that we would like to celebrate in our community and to inspire new ways of thinking and understanding," says Susan Gold, Executive Director.

Open Mic Night, Friday, March 3, 7-9pm, Limited seating; reservations are strongly suggested. A $10.00 donation is suggested to help support the on-going educational programs.
