Madera Winds Quartet at Carriage Barn Arts Ctr., March 11

NEW CANAAN, CT – On Saturday, March 11 at 4pm, The Carriage Barn Arts Center will host a free concert by The Madera Winds Quintet.  The concert coincides with the New Canaan High School exhibit “Through Our Eyes V,” which features artwork by over 100 students.

The Fairfield County woodwind quintet play lively, upbeat and energetic music.  The quintet features Janet Atherton, clarinet; Kerry Walker, flute; Rosemary Dellinger, bassoon; Ralph Kirmser, oboe; Zachary Glavan, horn.  The musicians in the group have been active in chamber music groups in Connecticut and New York City for up to thirty years.

The free concert is open to all and made possible with the support of Brightview on New Canaan, who is sponsoring a post-concert reception with the artists.  Please visit CarriageBarn.org or call 203-972-1895 to reserve seats.  The Carriage Barn Arts Center will host a second free performance by the quintet on Sunday, May 21 at 4pm.

About The New Canaan Society for the Arts                                                                                        The mission of the New Canaan Society for the Arts is to promote the visual and performing arts, to enrich the community through exhibitions, education, and cultural experiences, and to operate the Carriage Barn Arts Center. We offer artists opportunities to exhibit their work in an exceptional gallery space inside a unique nineteenth-century stone barn. Our shows are complemented by gatherings, educational workshops, concerts, and other events in this adaptively reused historical space, located on the grounds of a former estate, now named Waveny Park. Our gallery hours during exhibitions are Wednesday-Saturday 1-3 and Sundays 1-5pm.  More information can be found at www.carriagebarn.org.
