St. Timothy's Episcopal Church Welcomes New Rector

Fairfield, CT -- St. Timothy’ s on the Hill Episcopal Church in Fairfield announced the arrival of its new rector. The Reverend Kevin O. Olds began his ministry on February 26, 2017, and will serve as the fifth rector of the church.

Fr. Olds comes to St. Timothy’s from St. John’s Episcopal Church in Saugus, Massachusetts, where he had served as the rector since 2010. Fr. Olds grew up in the Syracuse, NY area, is a former computer programmer, and a lifelong fan of the Syracuse Orange and the Minnesota Vikings. He received his Master of Divinity degree from Drew University in Madison, NJ in 2008 and Master of Sacred Theology degree from General Seminary in New York City in 2010. Fr. Olds and his wife, Jill, have two sons, Zack (4) and Tommy (1).

Fr. Olds’ start at St. Timothy’s coincided with the start of the Lenten season - a busy time in the halls of any Christian house of worship. As he unpacks yet another box in his office, he reflected upon what it means to be taking on his new role. “My family and I feel truly blessed to be starting our journey with the St. Tim’s faithful and with the wider community of Fairfield. I’m looking forward to getting to know the faces and the places of this wonderful town, and to begin discerning how God is calling us forward together," he said.

St. Timothy’s, located at 4670 Congress Street, deep in the heart of Fairfield’s Greenfield Hill section, is a member of the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion. The church was established in 1968 on nine acres of land donated by then-State Senator Stewart B. McKinney and his wife, Lucy. The property backs up to the CT Audubon’s Larsen Sanctuary and is home the newly established Harbor Light Preschool Academy.

The service hours are Sundays and 8am and 10am.  All are welcome!
