Saugatuck Digital Arts Workshop Appoints New Education Director

Fairfield, CT - Saugatuck Digital Arts Workshop www.saugatuckarts.com announced that Barbara White has joined the company as Education Director, a new position within the company. Barbara is an educator focusing on technology and media and will be concentrating her efforts on implementing a Summer Digital Arts Camp. She has a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from Fairfield University, and is a strong advocate for children’s literacy. Barbara began her career as a network television producer and Director of Programming for multiple cable series. 

Barbara comments, “I am excited to begin this new opportunity at Saugatuck Digital Arts Workshop. I believe all children can develop skills and confidence using technology to create their own masterpiece. Whether building an app, creating music, a website, or building a digital resume for college, our summer camp will tap into their individual creative genius.”

Our new STEAM based Digital Summer Camp will fill a much-needed void in local camps with our focus on the creativity and craft of making art with computers. I’m confident Barbara will play a key role at the workshop leading our education team as an ambassador to parents, creative kids and the entire Fairfield County creative community." 

About the Saugatuck Digital Arts Workshop, LLC (SDAW) 

SDAW is a digital arts school, studio and gallery space located in the heart of downtown Fairfield, Connecticut. SDAW offers classes, tutorials and workshops in both individual and group settings to artists, students and creative professionals. 

2017 Summer Digital Arts Camp 

SDAW’s 2017 Summer Digital Arts Camp is a STEAM based camp experience individualized to a child’s creative interests. At Digital Arts Camp, we teach and use computers to make art – kids can animate a story, create a music video, design an app, build their a personal website or just about any creative endeavor their imagination, the technology and our team can support. Our approach combines both practical “workplace” skills such as learning software, languages and programs with artistic exploration.
