Unity Pharmacy Opens in Fairfield

Unity Pharmacy, a new local independent community pharmacy, will celebrate its grand opening at 1326 Post Road in Fairfield with a special ribbon cutting by First Selectman Mike Tetreau at 1pm on May 5, 2014.

The pharmacy differentiates itself with its strong focus on customer service and providing services like free delivery and free consultations on issues such as diabetes, hypertension, skin ailments, and other matters as required.

Naga Mulpuri, the owner/pharmacist, has more than seven years of experience in the field and has worked five years for a national chain before working for a local independent store to gain experience to open her store. In doing so, Mulpuri is in a better position to help customers as required without being tied down by policies of a large national big box store. She believes local businesses serve the community better as the revenues generated always go back to the local economy and help create jobs. She is a strong proponent of the shop local movement.

Mulpuri also loves sharing her knowledge as being the go-to person for the local community when they have questions about medications. She strongly believes in contributing to the local community by creating jobs and contributing to the local schools by sponsoring events, donating products and helping collect funds for the schools. Her pharmacy strives to make the lives of her customers easier by delivering medicines within 10-15 miles of Fairfield free of cost.

Unity pharmacy accepts most prescription plans and provides savings for customers through competitive pricing. It also provides special blister and bubble packing apart from offering compounding services. It provides advanced services such as prescription synchronization where the pharmacy will work with your insurance plan to refill all the prescriptions on one day every month; and provide reminders through text messages to customers to pick up medications or even deliver them for free. Customers can put in refill requests through the pharmacy website or through the free Unity Pharmacy App on mobile phones. The pharmacy also provides Flu vaccinations for adults.

The pharmacy also looks forward to stocking alternative Ayurvedic medicines to supplement the regular medication. Apart from filling prescriptions, the store also stocks home health-aide products, a wide selection of braces, supports, compression stockings, and general over the counter medication.

Mulpuri is open to volunteering at the local senior housing or centers, and other locations as required to give informative talks on various health topics. Unity pharmacy will also provide free vitamins from time to time. She also wants to be involved in the local schooling district by sponsoring events, driving donation programs and providing supplies to the school from time to time to help the needy. She will be opening the store to internships to provide training opportunities to the next generation of pharmacists.
