Nylen Galley at Picture This is pleased to present a show of recent works by Jennifer Drolet to inaugurate the Gallery's new space at 772 Post Road East, Westport.
With 14 years of experience as an interior designer, Jennifer had long had a passion for rich color and heavily textured materials. Her career as an artist began as an experiment in painting using acrylic and acrylic paint mediums while working with clients in search of artwork to complete their homes. Jennifer explains, “While looking for artwork, I would have an image of what would look best, thinking, 'If I could only make this myself'. This is where my career in painting started to evolve into a career of passion that I am so thankful to have found.”
While they may vary in style, all of her paintings are abstract in nature with a common theme of dramatic color, heavy texture and/or metallic shimmer. All of these elements, not coincidentally, are a reflection of her interior design style which has commonly been referred to as “old school Hollywood.”
An opening reception will be held June 11th, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, and the show will run until July 18th.
