Wakeman Boys & Girls Club's Celebrity Breakfast Raises $65,000

Southport, CT - Wakeman Boys & Girls Club’s Celebrity Breakfast, featuring Bryant University Lacrosse Coach Mike Pressler and presented on November 5 at Fairfield University, raised more than $65,000 for Wakeman programs, making it the most successful Celebrity Breakfast in Wakeman history.

More than 220 guests were in attendance to hear Pressler speak about his coaching career. Armen Keteyian, an Emmy-winning news correspondent, author, and host of 60 Minutes Sports on Showtime, also joined Pressler on stage for a question-and-answer session.

"We are very grateful to all who participated in this year’s Breakfast to raise funds for Wakeman programs,” said Wakeman’s Executive Director Dave Blagys. "A special thanks to Armen Keteyian and Mike Pressler and to the members of our Breakfast Committee: Sean Sullivan, Paul Halas and Michael Fox. This event continues to be very successful and it is thanks to the efforts and generosity of our planning committee, guests, and friends of the Club.”

The Celebrity Breakfast is one of three fundraisers on Wakeman Boys & Girls Club’s special events calendar. Other fundraisers include the Great Futures Benefit Auction on March 12, 2016, and the Corporate Golf Outing on June 6, 2016.
