Sewing Crafts at Fairfield Woods Branch Library, Dec. 5

Fairfield, Conn. - Head to Fairfield Woods Branch Library on Saturday, December 5 when the Craft Salon group will be making a fabric bird with instructor Ellen in the morning and learning how to make a log cabin quilt pattern piece with Jane at the Sew Crafty session in the afternoon.

Craft Salon, 10:00 am-noon: Make a charming winter bird with fabric, felt and beads. Your finished bird can be a brooch or it can perch in a window or on your holiday tree.

Sew Crafty Saturday, 1:00-3:00 pm: The simple Log Cabin Square shines as the foundation for many a quilting pattern. This is one of the easiest – and one of the best loved – quilting designs. It was a favorite quilting pattern among the thrifty stitching pioneer women of the mid-1800s frontier, but its clean geometry looks perfectly at home in many contemporary applications. This class is open to crafters who know how to operate a sewing machine, read a simple pattern and have basic hand-sewing skills.

The Fairfield Woods Branch Library is located at 1147 Fairfield Woods Road. Both programs are for ages 18 and up.

All programs at the Fairfield Public Library are free.  To register, or more information, visit: www.fairfieldpubliclibrary.org or call 203-255-7308. Follow the Fairfield Public Library on Twitter:  www.twitter.com/fairfieldpublib and Facebook:  www.facebook.com/fairfieldlibrary.
