Fairfield Museum Welcomes New Staffers

FAIRFIELD, CT - In recent months, the Fairfield Museum and History Center has had several staff changes and is pleased to announce its newest staff members. Laurie Pasteryak Lamarre has joined the organization as the new Curator of Exhibitions, Diane Lee is now the Collections Manager and Jen Chandler has taken over the role of Visitor Services Manager.

Laurie Lamarre, formerly the executive director of the Institute for American Indian Studies, has also served in research, management and education positions at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center, USS Constitution Museum in Boston, Mattatuck Museum, and Lebanon Historical Society. She is personally interested in how museums of all shapes and sizes open pathways and inspire empathy for cross-cultural understanding. Published author and spokesperson for the study, preservation and professional development of and for Connecticut history and culture, Lamarre serves on statewide boards such as the Connecticut League of History Organizations and Connecticut Preservation Action, and is also a member of Connecticut’s Acorn Club. She holds a B.A. in History & Anthropology from UConn and a M.A. in Museum Education from Tufts University.

Diane Lee was most recently the Collections Manager at the Connecticut Historical Society prior to joining the FMHC.  She has been working in the museum field for many years, starting as a volunteer.  She enjoys the challenge of figuring out old museum records, and putting together the information she finds to give people a more complete view of the objects she works with in the collection. She is a longtime Connecticut resident, but is new to the area and excited to learn more about it.

Jen Chandler is a longtime resident of Fairfield with a background in both Art History and Elementary Education. She also has significant retail sales experience, most recently working at Walin & Wolff in Southport Village. She and her husband Todd are raising their four children in Fairfield.
