Kershner Gallery "Earth & Beyond" Talk, Aug. 20

Fairfield, CT -- The public is invited to a reception in the Kershner Gallery at Fairfield Library for “Earth & Beyond”, a show of the art of Fran Gallogly and Eric Chiang on August 20 at 4:30 to 6:30 pm. The artists will talk about their work at 5:00 pm. The show runs from August 13 to September 25.  Fairfield Library, 1080 Old Post Rd. See www.fairfieldpubliclibrary.org or call 203-256-3155.

Fran Gallogly is a digital photographer with a focus on landscape, flower, wildlife, portrait (especially children) and nature.  She has been involved with photography since 1970, going from black and white film then to digital color photography.

Now retired, she travels the world with her camera and a month in Namibia resulted in a coffee table book, and time in India produced a second book. Her photos have been exhibited in New York, in Florida, and in Connecticut and have won her many awards. They have also been on a magazine cover and one was bought by Trader Joe’s to use as a greeting card. Fran also photographs in New England, New York City, and in Florida.

Eric Chiang grew up in Taiwan, now lives in Westport.  He is a self-taught painter. As a youth, on his own he studied the history and techniques of composing classical music and of creating visual art. In 2007, he quit his job as a technology executive on Wall Street so he could create art full time. His artwork has been exhibited in Taiwan, New York, and many area venues. He is a member of Taiwanese American Arts Council, Silvermine Guild, Westport Artists Collective, Ridgefield Guild, and Fairfield Cultural Alliance.

Eric says his goal is to“create artworks that (1) manifest my quest into the meaning and significance of our existence against this infinite space-time, and (2) express my profound empathy of panhuman desperation, love, connections, and hope...”
