Fairfield Museum Welcomes New Board Members

FAIRFIELD, CT  – The Fairfield Museum welcomed three new members to its Board of Directors. Fairfield residents Elizabeth Fath, Alan Neigher and Robert Smith were elected to serve on the Board of this dynamic center for cultural arts, history and education. “We are delighted to welcome Elizabeth, Alan and Robert to the Fairfield Museum Board,” said Executive Director Mike Jehle. “Each of these local residents brings a fresh perspective, wonderful skills and great enthusiasm to our organization. We look forward to working with them as we undertake exciting new projects in the years to come.”

Elizabeth Fath

Elizabeth Fath has resided in Fairfield since 1992 and has served on several boards. Elizabeth has non-profit experience in both the arts and social services sectors. She served on the Juilliard Council from 2013-2015 and the Fairfield County Community Foundation Advisory Counsel Arts Program Committee from 2009–2012.  She has been involved with the Near & Far Aid Association since 1993 and served as President 2008–2010.  Elizabeth also served on the boards of the Center for Women and Families from 2003–2006 where she chaired their Endowment Committee and was a founding member of the Equus Foundation serving on their board from 2004–2006. Prior to her involvement in the non-profit sector, Elizabeth worked in private equity and investment banking. She received her MBA from Harvard Business School and her BS from Indiana University where she competed on their gymnastics team and was a Big Ten finalist.  Elizabeth is married with three children.

Alan Neigher

Alan Neigher has been an attorney in the Westport firm of Byelas & Neigher since 1980.  A graduate of Colby College and Boston College Law School, he specializes in media, entertainment, first amendment and trade regulation law.  He has been honored with an AV (highest) Martindale-Hubbell rating, and is listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers as well as The Best Lawyers in America, Connecticut Super Lawyers (intellectual property) and New England Super Lawyers (entertainment and sports). He has served as a member of the adjunct faculty of Fairfield University, where he taught a course in law and ethics. He was the former Board president at Fairfield Theater Co. and serves as chairman of the Fairfield Arts Advisory Committee.

Robert Smith

Robert Smith is a founding partner of Social Venture Partnership – CT, a firm composed of business professionals who cultivate effective philanthropy and help strengthen nonprofits. Robert recently concluded a 21-year tenure with Glencore, Ltd., a leading integrated producer and marketer of over 90 commodities, with senior positions in finance, business development, operations, and research.  Robert is an active volunteer in the community; as a coach for several sports teams, youth group teacher and leader of the annual Appalachia Project at his church, and Finance Chair of the Black Rock Yacht Club.  He received his MS Finance and MBA degrees from the University of Connecticut and is currently pursuing his Masters in Teaching (Secondary Education, Business). Robert resides in Fairfield with his wife, Tanya, and their children.

The Fairfield Museum is located at 370 Beach Road in Fairfield. the Museum is open seven days a week, 10am-4pm. Admission is $5 for adults; $3 for students and seniors.
