Fairfielder Tina Tison New Dir. of Mktg at Maritime Aquarium

NORWALK, CT  –  The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk welcomes Tina Tison as its new Director of Marketing.

Tison joins The Maritime Aquarium from Media Storm, where she served as a Managing Director for 10 years.  While with the Norwalk-based ad agency, she was the senior executive on top brands including FX, Food Network and ABC Family and led integrated consumer marketing efforts that broke network and industry records for ratings.

She now will direct the marketing and communication efforts of Connecticut’s second-largest family attraction; an aquarium rated by TripAdvisor.com reviewers as one of the Top 20 aquariums in the U.S. and No. 1 in New England.

Previously, Tison held VP titles at both Grey Worldwide and Young & Rubicam in New York.  She worked with top CPG brands, including P&G, Kraft, Campbell’s Soup and ConAgra Foods, and her work was recognized with multiple Effie Awards for advertising effectiveness.

The graduate of Washington and Lee University frequently shares her experience and expertise as a speaker on industry panels and as a guest lecturer at Fairfield University on the topic of persuasive communication.

A classically trained pianist turned amateur DJ, Tison lives in Fairfield with her husband, Joe, and their two children.

The Maritime Aquarium is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to educate visitors about – and to create stewards for – Long Island Sound. It accomplishes this by allowing visitors to get close to more than 250 species native to the Sound and its watershed, including sharks, seals, sea turtles, river otters, jellyfish and other animals. One of the top places for family fun in Connecticut, the Aquarium also features hands-on educational programs and displays, public study cruises out onto the Sound, and Connecticut's largest IMAX movie theater, with a screen that's six stories high.
