Robbins Eye Center Ribbon Cutting, Nov. 7

Fairfield, Conn. – The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce is happy to announce that its new member, the Robbins Eye Center, has scheduled its official ribbon cutting for Monday, November 7th at 4:30PM.

The Robbins Eye Center, Connecticut’s best eye care team, is now in Fairfield. With more than 30 years of experience, including more than 30,000 cataract surgeries, Robbins Eye Center provides the expertise people are looking for. The newly built facility on One Sasco Hill Road is custom-designed to maximize patient modern care and comfort.

Robbins Eye Center proudly offers state-of-the-art California Optos, which allows for full retinal exams that do not require dilation.  However, their services do not end there … they also offer facial rejuvenation through Botox and Jurviderm.  These services are performed in their brand-new, state-of-the-art facility by trained specialist, who have years of experience. This service complements their philosophy of providing the full facial experience when it comes to their patients.

Dr. Kim Robbins earned her medical degree from the New York Medical College and completed her residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City. A board-certified ophthalmologist, she has served as a member of the board and as adviser and Medical Director for various national and Connecticut eye care organizations and served as clinical associate for St. Vincent’s Hospital. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Robbins specializes in state-of-the-art cataract surgery concentrating on quality refractive outcomes.

Dr. Spiro Combest received his undergraduate education at Adelphi University and his medical degree from the Spartan Health Sciences School of Medicine. He then went on to serve his residency training at the Nassau University Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Combest is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the New York Medical Society and is certified to use the SLT laser for Glaucoma. Dr. Combest has a personal affinity for performing sutureless pterygium excision with endograft surgeries.

Dr. David Cartwright received his undergraduate education at Washington University in St. Louis, following which he served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kenya. He then worked in the non-profit sector before attending the SUNY College of Optometry. Dr. Cartwright completed residency training in ocular disease at VA Hudson Valley Healthcare System. Dr. Cartwright has special interests in conventional and specialty contact lenses including difficult-to-fit (keratoconus, post-corneal transplant) cases and is certified in corneal refractive therapy (orthokeratology). He is a member of the American Academy of Optometry, the American Optometric Association, the New York State Optometric Association and the Connecticut Association of Optometrists.

Joyce J. Kaine, RN, has joined the Robbins Eye Center team as their Director of Surgical Services, and is a certified Botox injection specialist. Ms. Kaine is a seasoned Registered Nurse with 15+ years’ experience in medical surgical services, both in hospital and surgical centers in several states. Her experience includes patient education, pre-certifications, compliance and various surgical specialties. In addition, she worked as a Quality Assurance Team Lead for one of the nation’s largest surgical device manufacturers, focused on patient safety.

The original Center was in Bridgeport for many years. However, Dr. Kim Robbins is now a resident of Fairfield, and therefore, when it came time to move the office, she recognized that her patients would benefit from the easy access to the train, bus, ferry and highways, as well as appreciate the outstanding accommodations and dining.  Fairfield is so diverse, there is a place to eat, shop, or just walk around, that will please anyone.
