Miro Kitchen Brings West Coast, Hawaiian & East Asia Flavors to Fairfield County

Fairfield, CT - Every so often a restaurant comes along that ventures off the beaten path, delivering a dining experience that is truly inspired, bold, and mouthwatering. In March of 2016 Miro Kitchen presented their virtual Pacific Rim culinary tour, treating diners to a melting pot of flavors stemming from the territories which embrace the Pacific Ocean, including California, Hawaii, Japan, and eastern Asia. The result was an instant buzz among Fairfield County food enthusiasts, hungry for more of these rich, pungent and aromatic spices, herbs, curries, and exotic ingredients that reinvigorated their taste buds.

Upon enjoying a successful spring and summer introduction of their new Pacific Rim eatery and bar, and a “Very Good” rating from the New York Times, Miro principals, Eugene and Howard, are excited about the future. The intimate space which seats 32 in the dining room, 10 at the bar, and 22 on the seasonal patio, boasts a minimalist decor, leaving a blank canvas to show off Miro’s vibrant dishes.

“You quickly learn about people’s level of culinary adventure when you’re presenting dishes such as tako taco and ahi poke," says Eugene. “The response has been great which allows us to be even more creative and experiment with such a broad spectrum of ingredients and flavors.”

The new menu at MIRO Kitchen includes cool weather comfort food such as saimin noodle soup with pork belly, mushroom, scallion and a soft egg. Tacos continue to reign supreme, with warm tortillas filled with unique land and sea creations including Korean short rib with red cabbage slaw, spicy garlic shrimp with pickled veg, and that famous tako taco of tender braised octopus with roasted corn relish. The small plates menu is a mouthwatering road map of tastes and textures; gochu chicken wings (Korean red chili paste); togarashi lobster mac + cheese laced with Japanese seven-spice; General Tso's cauliflower coated with sweet chili sauce; and hanger steak sushi with miso glaze and wasabi crema. Creative salads include a traditional ahi ‘poke’, a Hawaiian ceviche of sorts, and a scrumptious Napa cabbage salad embellished with bacon, edamame and crispy tortilla tossed with a spicy peanut dressing. Five spice duck leg, macadamia kalamansi cod, and huli-huli chicken are just a few big plate highlights on the menu, in addition to market fried rice with scallion pesto, spicy Singapore street noodles, and the K-town burger with hoisin bbq and a chili-garlic-mayo slaw.

The beverage program features an innovative cocktail menu, further enhancing the rich and festive Pacific Rim concept. Craft beer, an accessible wine list which focuses on small production wineries, an active bar scene, a weekday Happy Hour food and drink menu, and Saturday and Sunday brunch add to the Miro Kitchen experience.
