Milford, CT -- On Saturday, April 8, 2017, Quinnipiac University students volunteered at Beth-El Center as part of "The Big Event", the largest, nationwide, student-run service project day that encourages students to help residents or organizations in their local communities.
The Quinnipiac students cleaned out and landscaped the Beth-El Center property with new soil, mulch and flowers. Students contacted the Beth-El Center in advance to propose their work and get approval.
"We're thankful for the group of hardworking volunteers from Quinnipiac who did a great job sprucing up the Beth-El Center property," said Jenn Paradis, Director of Programs and Facilities at the Beth-El Center.
The Beth-El Center is a recognized leader in caring for and meeting the needs of the hungry and homeless and strives to prevent and end homelessness. It serves individuals and families by providing temporary shelter and support services and feeds up to eighty persons daily in the soup kitchen.
