Exide Clean Up Nearing Completion

Fairfield, CT - Clean up of the former Exide Battery site on the Post Road continues to progress, representatives for the Town of Fairfield report.

Contractors are working to remove the double liner system that was used for the dewatering operation and performing site restoration work. This work is expected to be largely completed by end of June 2017, though site inspections will continue until a vegetative cover has been established. Monitoring to date has shown no exceedance with permitting requirements.

Despite this good news, this prime six-acre parcel is not expected to be ready for sale and redevelopment until sometime next year.

For additional information on the project, please contact the company’s environmental consultant, Ralph Klass of CCA, LLC, at ralphklass@ccaengineering.com
