Westport, CT -- Love lobster? Then you will dig The Lobster Shack at Rizzuto’s at 540 Riverside Avenue in Westport
It's basically a takeout counter -- though it does have two dine-in tables -- that's been operating since late July 2016, serving up fresh seafood to go, with a focus on lobsters but including clams, oysters, shrimp and fish, and a variety of New England treats.
One staffer does all the cooking and lobster cracking, churning out deliciousness like the Original Warm Lobster Roll, with Boston lettuce and melted butter on a butter-toasted New England style bun or the same meal but cold, called the Chilled Lobster Salad Roll -- essentially cold meat tossed with mayo, celery and scallions.
If you didn't have time to cook for the family or were just feeling lazy, you can really impress by bringing home full dinners that include whole 1 ¼ pound lobsters with corn on the cob, slaw, drawn butter and lemon -- for just $22.95 a person.
For smaller appetites or a quick jaunt to the beach, try one of the Seaside ‘Wiches, including juicy Fish Tacos made with Mahi Mahi, shredded lettuce, onions, avocado, sour cream and pico di gallo or Crab Cakes, Shrimp Wrap and Fried Shrimp.
Another good way to go for the beach is a Seafood Box. You can get something like Fish & Chips, Panko-Coated Shrimp or Jumbo Clam Strips to go.
Do you like sides? There are many, like Old Bay Fries, Slaw, Fried Calamari, Shrimp Cocktail and New England Clam Chowder.
Put an exclamation point at the end of your meal with a yummy dessert: Banana Cream Pie, Chocolate Cream Pie or Bill’s Key Lime Pie.
