Nod Hill Brewery Grand Opening in October 2017

Ridgefield, CT - Raise your mugs, steins and tankards! Nod Hill, a craft brewery specializing in unique, adventurous ales, is coming to town. And the foam will fly. Beer aficionados and novices will be able to enjoy a glass or take home a growler from the area’s newest taproom and brewery at 137 Ethan Allen Hwy, in Ridgefield. According to father and son founders Rob and David Kaye, the brewery will feature boldly flavored, highly drinkable beers served in an elegant and comfortable taproom that combines the buildings industrial feel with a cozy pub atmosphere.

Like the campfire in our logo, Nod Hill Brewery will be a welcoming gathering place for friends, family and beer lovers to meet, relax and enjoy locallybrewed beer.”- says Dave Kaye.

For over a decade, the Kayes dreamed of opening a brewery in the building they own on Rte. 7. Dave developed an interest in home brewing while attending college in Boston. Upon graduation, he started work as a bartender and cellar man at a pub in the U.K., where he fell in love with British cask ale. Dave and Rob’s enthusiasm continued to ferment on a trip to Austria where they enjoyed the monk-brewed Marzen beer at the Augustiner Brewery in Salzburg.

“We were inspired to create a venue that reflects not only our love of beer but the magical experience we have had with friends and families in those special places," said Dave.

Nod Hill will offer six core beers on draft at all times in addition to regular cask offerings and special can and bottle releases. Says Dave, “We believe that the strength of any brewery rests on the drinkability, consistency and superb flavor of its core line of beers. At Nod Hill, we plan to regularly offer a hoppy session pale ale, a Belgian golden ale brewed with seasonal local ingredients and a juicy New England style double IPA.”

Among Nod Hill’s rotating taps, the brewery will also offer a stout or porter as well as a double IPA. These beers will be augmented with a wide range of seasonal beers, cask offerings and wild fermented ales.

Co-founders Rob and Dave make a unique team bringing together their passion for the craft, as well as the technical ability, talent, drive and desire for constant improvement.

“We at Nod Hill are ecstatic and can’t wait to raise a glass with beer lovers all over the state and bring our vision of a local world class brewery in Ridgefield to reality. Cheers," the pair shared.
