Princeton Review Ranks SHU's Welch COB as One of the Best

FAIRFIELD, Conn.—The Princeton Review has ranked Sacred Heart University’s Jack Welch College of Business as an outstanding school and included it in its Best 267 Business Schools, 2018 edition guidebook. The leading tutoring, test prep and college admission services company compiled a list of the 267 top business school using institutional data and information provided by students enrolled in master of business administration (MBA) programs.

“We are excited our master’s in business administration program is a part of this listing once again. It’s great to be among this group of exceptional programs,” said John Chalykoff, dean of the College of Business. “We set high standards and our professors work hard to make sure students are getting the best business education. Our graduate students strive to be as successful as our college’s namesake and long-time friend, the legendary former CEO of General Electric, Jack Welch, and we provide students with the necessary skills to do so.”

The Jack Welch College of Business is AACSB accredited and emphasizes core business skills and knowledge, communications skills and ethics. Students receive hands-on learning, understanding of the global marketplace and exposure to state-of-the-art technology, including an active trading floor. The College enrolls more than 2,000 students in undergraduate and graduate programs.

The faculty consists of more than 50 professors, who are recognized scholars and experienced practitioners in the business world. Faculty regularly conduct research and writing and remain current in business practices.

Business courses are offered at both the Fairfield campus and the Luxembourg campus in Europe. Several classes are offered through state-of-the-art video broadcasting. These video conferences allow European and American students to learn from and with one another simultaneously.

The University's location in Fairfield County gives students unlimited access to internships, employment and corporate professionals. Welch business alumni are working across the country, but many started their careers at one of the more than 2,000 companies and over 40 corporate headquarters located just outside SHU’s front door. The University’s proximity to New York City and Boston are a great advantage for Welch business students who want to live and work in a major city.

The Princeton Review’s purpose is not to rank schools hierarchically, but to provide school profiles combined with multiple rating scores and ranking lists to help applicants choose the best business schools for them, said Robert Franek, editor-in-chief of The Princeton Review.

The ranking list factors in data from its surveys of business school students. The survey asks students about their school’s academics, student body, campus life and career plans.
