Conservation Director Steinke Recognized on Retirement

During its meeting on September 16, 2014, the Fairfield Harbor Management Commission recognized the retirement of Conservation Director Tom Steinke, honoring his great accomplishments as the first municipal Conservation Director in the State of Connecticut and the only Conservation Director in the history of Fairfield, along with his unmatched dedication to serving the Town of Fairfield and its citizens.

The Commission presented Mr. Steinke with a framed photo of Southport Harbor. Commission Chairman Nelson North, Commission Consultant Geoff Steadman and First Selectman Mike Tetreau spoke of Mr. Steinke’s accomplishments and thanked him for his 43 years of public service.
