Tax & Sewer Use Bills Can Now Be Paid at People's

Beginning October 1, 2014, Fairfield residents will be able to pay any current year property Tax or Sewer Use bill due during the collection months of July, October, January and April at either the Tax Collector’s Office (in person, by mail or online) or at any People’s United Bank locations including People’s United Bank Stop & Shop locations and branches outside of Fairfield. The Town of Fairfield continues to strive to provide its taxpayers opportunities for convenient and flexible choices for paying their taxes and the ability to pay a tax or sewer use bill at a People’s United Bank branch adds additional hours and weekends for-in person payment options.

When paying a Tax or Sewer Use bill at a People’s United Bank branch you must have the original bill with the number 051 located at the top of the installment portion of the bill. No reprinted bills, adjusted bills, partial payments or payments that reflect a Back Tax Due on the bill will be able to be processed at the bank. When paying in person you will receive a receipt from People’s United Bank for your records.
